Reflecting on Last Week’s Kick-Off: WIPSI AI Training for Black Not-for-Profits

Last week, we officially kicked off the very first cohort session of the WIPSI – Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training Program for Black not-for-profit organizations in Nova Scotia, and what an incredible start it was!
From the moment participants logged in, we recognized a sense of excitement and curiosity. Many of you came eager to learn how AI can make their day-to-day work easier, help them better support their communities, and ultimately strengthen their impact.
Why AI Training Matters
The Black Business Initiative (BBI) is proud to offer this brand-new learning opportunity beneficial for Black Not-for-profit owners, made possible through funding from the Nova Scotia Government’s Workplace Innovation and Productivity Skills Incentive (WIPSI) program.
This training is specifically designed to help Black not-for-profits across the province:
- Streamline administrative and operational tasks
- Boost productivity and reduce burnout
- Improve program delivery and community reach
- Build confidence in using practical, accessible AI tools
In a sector where teams are often stretched thin and resources are limited, AI can and will continue to be a game changer, and this program is all about putting that potential into your hands.
What’s Ahead
The WIPSI AI Training Program will run virtually from November 13 to December 18, 2025, with weekly evening sessions at 4:00 PM ADT for two hours. Each session builds on the last, ensuring participants get hands-on practice and real world strategies they can apply immediately.
We still have a few spots available for the next training cohort beginning in January 2026. If you’d like to join, please sign up to our mailing list
complete and return the intake registration form by October 31 at 4:00 PM ADT so we can confirm your participation and ensure you receive all necessary materials.
