Atlantic Canada Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP)
The BBI is the delivery organization for the objectives of the Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP) Ecosystem in Atlantic Canada—specifically to strengthen and broaden existing support for Black businesses and entrepreneurs in Nova Scotia and expand services and programs to all Atlantic Canadian provinces.
In the months to come, we will be developing new business programs and services to support Black businesses and youth in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island, with the aim of being able to provide similar supports that are available in Nova Scotia.
Our goal is to offer similar programs and services in all regions by [date]. The new programs and services will be developed in consultation with stakeholders in the region, including existing and aspiring businesses owners. This is to ensure that the solutions are locally relevant. We also expect to have Entrepreneurship Engagement Managers (EEMs) in major centres of the provinces to work directly with clients.
We expect to work extensively with community and service provider organizations on the ground to achieve this goal. While the funding is for a three-year period, we expect to continue providing support beyond that time.
What types of supports will be available to Atlantic Canadians through the Black Entrepreneurship Program?
Business development support, including counseling, advising, and access to information and resources and mentorship opportunities.
