For Immediate Release
(October 15, 2016, Halifax) – North Preston’s R&B/pop vocal powerhouse, Reeny Smith is releasing her debut single, Last Call to Hot Adult Contemporary and Top 40 radio stations across Canada on Friday, October 16.
“This is definitely exciting, who knows what could happen from here. We could not have picked a better song to debut, there is so much talent behind it between co-writers and producers that I can’t help but feel good about it,” states Smith. “Every phase of producing this song was an incredible experience and I am excited to finally share it with my fans.”
Last Call is a fabulous mix of contemporary R&B mixed with pop sensibilities and a sprinkle of EDM. Reeny’s sweet and powerful voice draws the listener in and then hooks them when the chorus kicks in. Long after they’ve listened to it on their favorite radio station they are still singing it.
Reeny, 23, co-wrote the song this summer at Gordie Sampson’s Song Camp with fellow Nova Scotian musicians and songwriters Laura Roy, Dylan Guthro and Corey LeRue. The track was also produced by LeRue and features hip hop artist, Quake Matthews.
Singing and playing piano since the age of five, and coming from an incredible gene pool of family musicians, Reeny has been racking up the awards and accolades since being selected for the Portia White Award for Excellence in Vocal Performance in 2011. And so far, this year has not fallen short on the recognition for this emerging artist: in March Reeny won Artist of the Year at the 2015 African Nova Scotian Music Association Awards and in June won Casino Nova Scotia’s Artist in Residence program.
The debut single, Last Call featuring Quake Matthews will be available on iTunes.
