Dana is a former residence of Lucasville, and was born and raised in Upper Hammonds Plains.
Dana is married to Deborah Emmerson, formally of Lucasville for 36 years and they have two children, Cory and Rayleen. They were welcome with the birth of two grandsons (Lucas Sinclair) on September 13 /2009 & Eric October 14th 2011, by their Son Cory and daughter in-law Angela Banks Emmerson.
He is the inventor of the Bulb Eater Fluorescent Lamp Crusher, which crushes spent mercury fluorescents into fragments and catching the mercury vapor in a patented designed filtration system, which allows for further processing and recycling to be reused in other products.
Dana is a passionate Entrepreneur and is involved in the day to day operations of his companies, Dan-x Incorporated and Dan-X Recycling Limited in Dartmouth, which he markets the Bulb Eater on a global basis, and also market the recycling service for spent mercury bulbs through-out Atlantic Canada.
Dana has been involved in Dan-x Incorporated since 1996 and established Dan-X Recycling since he purchased a state of the art recycling plant in 2009.
He is currently a member of the Lucasville United Baptist Church where he is involved on the Finance committee, planning Committee, Choir member, Treasurer, Usher, President of the Men’s Brotherhood, Deacon Board, and Secretary for the Wallace Lucas Community Centre. Deacon Dana is also the Finance Chair of the Laymen’s Council of the AUBA.
Dana love to golf and fish and like to read books in his leisure time.
Dana is motivated and is an inspiration to others as he pursue his dreams in business and while serving the community in which he resides.
As a Good role model, Dana says that “:Giving back some times to help in the developing a safe and prosperous environment for our communities, is something I want to do to insure our children and grand- children will stay and raise their families here.”
Dana continues to stay focus and passionate about his journey and hopes he can set an example of what
persistence and patience can reward others if they want to succeed at whatever they do in their lives.
